[You are greeted with the sound of randomly disrupted static, at the end of which three melodic beeping signals are heard. Yep, that's your cue to leave a message!]
[bird!! bird tips its head down, you can pet if you like?]
I suppose the matters of practicality are the obvious things to consider when it comes to choosing an assistant. But you can also simply follow what your heart tells you.
[He laughs, happily! Bird meanwhile makes a roboty beep, but a Pleased one. yes pet bird]
Much like myself, really! I was having trouble choosing something, too. And when asked about it, I said that I like too many things to choose any particular one. I was told to choose anything then, but... doesn't it still make you want to choose something that will feel right to you? Something meaningful, perhaps, even if the meaning is really small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things?
Why not something to symbolize your love for our people? Or... as the Emissary, your devotion to harmony? Of course, it's not that your duty needs to define all of your life. I've chosen a bird for my assistant based on a memory I took, and then picked a particular species based on their character. Corvids are intelligent and playful - something of a reflection of myself, in a sense. But if you do not remember who you were, or don't feel ready to remember... you can start with who you are right now.
[AND THE MOST NOT ENTIRELY USELESS AWARD OF THE YEAR GOES TOOOOOOOOO]
I'm glad! And like I said, you can change the way your assistant looks if you change your mind. If you'd like, we can visit the zoo, so you could take inspiration from actual flora and fauna? Although, of course, it's not that you need to do so. Your assistant can be quite humanoid.
[takes out his phone and buys a memory replay! it's just him hanging out on the moon being sad and watching the wildlife amble about. mostly the lunatenders.]

Ah, those are very good points. I will keep them in mind for my own.

I do not have much of a preference when it comes to aesthetics, so following my heart is a little difficult.

Ah! And it's this moon variety that you like?
no subject
[while hanging out on the moon being sad, as one does,]

Then perhaps you could model your assistant after one of them? I'd love to see it!

Does everything become longer on the moon? Is that why you are taller in the memory?
Re: done.
That is not the reason, no.
