[In days of old he'd probably scoff at his arm being held. But now? He tugs his own arm up so he can take his hand and lace their fingers.]

Oh, yes. Lahabrea has actually told me about it once, saying that if it ever broke he would come to me for maintenance. I was quite warmed by the sentiment at the time.

[Stepping forward to pat the pegasus, but keeping his other hand laced with Emet's.]

[He kisses the back of his hand before he gets on offering him a hand up.]

I had thought that I came to this place intact with most of my memories. But here I find more new ones again. I thought I would share them with you.

Well, I like all manners of creatures... except for perhaps sharks. Blame my memories for that.

[He smiles at the kiss, then gets onto the pegasus after Emet, wrapping his arms around his waist.]

... Oh? I did not realize you could still be missing some memories. Though I suppose you did say you've forgotten a lot...

Taken. Like yours. I will not deny much has lost clarity over time, but I don’t believe I would have forgotten. Not completely.

[The pegasus takes flight.]

... Yes. I'd very much so prefer that you did not take them alone, even if they might be hard for both of us.

I would not dare dream of it. Not only would I hear it from you, but I'm sure others would scold me just as much.

Oh, you can be certain of that. Elidibus, for one, would definitely read you a lecture on not doing something potentially dangerous, or relevant to our mission, by yourself.

[Secret-keeper (affectionate). He smiles as he gets off the pegasus, then looks around.]

Ah, looks private enough. And if need be, I can carry you back to the dorms.

[He is being sarcastic, but the last comment actually has him pause.]

I know our road here has not been a smooth one, but do know that I do trust you, Hythlodaeus. More than I can ever put into words. You've proven that without a doubt.

[Oh. He looks a little flustered at that, but not in a bad way. He comes closer to take Emet's hands, giving him a soft smile.]

... I once asked Absinthe what trust is. And he said that, to him, it would be knowledge that someone won't seek to purposefully hurt him. I wonder if it's the same for you -- and perhaps the rest of your unit.

But no matter what... Even if we have our differences and fears, I just want you to be happy. And... Free to be who you are. That's all I've ever wanted, even back then.

Trust... I wonder. I've thought about what its meant from time to time, even here, but I've never put it into words.

[He leans up to kiss his cheek.]

[He tugs him by his hands to come lie down with him on Cosmo's hideaway spot.]

He blushes slightly at the kiss but also tries not to look too smug over it. Lying down by Emet, stealthily taking his hand to lace their fingers together.]

Well... Here's to hoping it will be a good memory.

[He gets to be exceedingly mushy. He's got eons to make up for after all. And in the end he does rest his head on his shoulder as he finds the memory and hits the 'play' button.

... It's that place again. The one from my memories--your younger self's memories, too.

[He says that in an attempt to--well, maybe distract Hades a little from the more emotional part of the memory. But Hythlodaeus knows what taking memories is like, so he still holds Hades's hand tighter and curls closer to him, as though trying to shield him.]

[Hythlodaeus is right on the mark. His form is shaking, just slightly, from anger and maybe a little shock to the system. He doesn't respond immediately, but closes his eyes and takes a few deep breathes forcing himself to calm. Probably not a technique he had in days of old when he probably would just rant.

And of course having Hythlodaeus curl around him does help tremendously. But he will eventually speak up.]

How is that even possible...?

... I don't know. It seems... really strange to take just a little part of your memories.

[He can tell Hades needs to calm down first, though, so he wraps an arm across his chest as well for good measure.]

Do you recognize the other people in that memory?

[He's giving up all pretenses of bashfulness as he tucks himself against him gripping the fabric of his shirt probably a bit too tightly. He takes a deep breathe before continuing.]

We were looking for Fandaniel, but back then he was simply Hermes before he took office. Venat...

[He is just going to skip Venat for now.]

I hard a hard time remembering the faces of Amaurot. By no luck would I remember the faces from a few trips to Elpis I had.

But those memories --- how is it possible to know of them back then?

[But then his head snaps up.]

He had memories from there. What kind?

[Hythlodaeus rubs Emet's back in an attempt to soothe, but stops at the question. It takes him a few moments to rack his own memory, but once he remembers - oh boy. He sits up abruptly, unaccustomedly serious, maybe even a little pale.]

... Elpis. An incident of some kind that tampered with his own memories. Something went wrong with a... device of some sort. In the memory, he was angry at having forcibly forgotten the couple days before that. Do you think that might be connected to why you are only remembering this now?
