[He gives another whine at that, closing his eyes and leaning in to press his forehead against Emet's.]

[He's jesting mostly as he runs a hand up and down his back in a soothing gesture.]

[That's true, Emet is a dumdum.

He laughs, leaning into the petting, but nonetheless nudges Emet in the side gently.]

And what of yourself, hmm? You seem to have found plenty of partners in my absence.

[It's also mostly a joke, but at the same time he can't help still feeling a little jealous, a little insecure. After all, their reunion wasn't so easy, and he's still aware that they have 12 thousand years worth of difference.]

Take it as a reflection of your own work. I certainly didn't learn to be friendly on my lonesome.

[He nips at his nose, biting it lightly.]

Lahabrea and Elidibus do not count. But I suppose that does leave me with two serious and two dalliances.

[He looks Emet in the eyes, his tone both joking and serious.]

I think I'll always be jealous of anyone who has even the slightest chance of stealing your attention from me. But isn't that jealousy what you want, too, Hades?

Long ago I would have said yes or at least implied it. Wanting to be fawned over and worried for without a doubt. Not that I do not longer enjoy these affairs, but my priorities have changed.

Rather than jealousy I would simply want those that I love happy with whatever and whomever would bring such joy.

[He watches Emet for a few moments, then sighs softly.]

... I would not interfere in your relationships, of course. And I am happy, truly, that you've found others who put your heart at ease.

But... you'll have to forgive me if I keep worrying over whether they may replace me in your heart.

[He laughs as he takes his hands.]

Impossible. I'd give you a piece of it as proof would I be able.

[... OH. He blushes a little at that. That... would be ideal, really.]

... Well, then. I think that would dissuade me from such worries.

[Kissing his knuckles.]

I can't now, but when I can, I will.

[He smiles at that, visibly soothed. Maybe he just wanted attention and validation, really. But also now that he's given it, he's going to be a spoiled little princess.]

Then... in the meantime, I want a gift from you. Something else I can keep with me to remind me of our bond.

[He thinks about it for a long while. Closing his eyes and pondering what would suit him best.]

We would need to make a trip somewhere else. We could depart now or I could surprise you later.

[He gets up on the Pegasus and then holds his hand to help him up.]

[Taking the hand to climb up!]

[He makes sure he is on securely before urging the mechanical monstrosity back. Good thing they are on the roof!

When they arrive, he takes him back to his room and pulls him to center of it.]

[He grins, closing his eyes as instructed. Exciting!!]

Well, this is quite interesting already!

[He squeezes his fingers before he shuffles around the room. Picking a gift for Hythlodaeus is not as easy as it appeared. It had to be special. To be unique. Something that could properly convey the bond they shared.

Not any bauble would do!

So when he returns, he stands in front of him. A weight falls on Hythlodaeus' forehead and cheeks. A mask of crimson red with dual white arcs and a scowling expression.]

[He makes a noise of surprise at feeling the weight on his face, raising a hand to touch it... a mask?

He takes a few moments to think, then grins again.]

Hmm. Is that what I think it is?

It is. Do you mind the weight of it?

[It's a gift with a heavy meaning and he's a little embarrassed by it.]
