[He laughs not offended by the cheek pinching because he believes he is winning.]

Oh? Are you blushing? Just because of that praise.

[HUFFS! No, he absolutely doesn't latch onto any indication that Emet needs or wants him, nor does he crave every bit of praise from him. Don't be ridiculous. Hmph.]

I'm not blushing. Your eyes must be getting bad.

[He keeps eye contact as he takes his hands kissing each on the knuckles.]

If you say so, my dear.

[YOU ARE THE WORST. He tries his best to stay calm and succeeds for all of two seconds maybe. He does blush deeply but does not try to take his hands away in the least, instead just frowning and almost pouting in embarrassment.]

Why are you--didn't you just say that you refuse to listen to what I say?

[This is exceedingly cute and he keeps holding his hands.]

I said I refute the ridiculous notion of my memories. Not that I refute you or your words.

[He leans forward and kisses his cheek.]

[WORST!!! But the worst part is that he can't deny that this is nice. Having Emet pay attention to him is nice, and sometimes he doesn't even want to get the upper hand again.

He huffs, but tips his head into the cheek kiss just slightly.]

If it's rare, then isn't it your own fault for not working harder to fluster me?

[Yes, this does technically mean he's admitting to being flustered, but shhhh.]

[He just lets out a laugh, warm for a change, as he tilts his head further to kiss his jaw then his neck.]

Are you admitting to enjoy being bullied, Hythlodaeus.

[He sucks in a sharper breath, blushing again, and gives Emet a nudge in the side - token resistance, really, because he's not actually pushing him away.]

Absolutely not.

[Absolutely yes. Two can play at the tsundere game!]

[Undeterred, he's just going to bite his neck! Well, give him a hicky mostly, but that's less dramatic.]

[RUDE!!! BULLY!!! He makes a noise between a squeak and a whimper, digging his fingers into Emet's shirt. But doesn't resist. He hates that this feels nice and that he wants it, because it also means admitting defeat!]

[He captures his face in both hands when he's done abusing his neck. With a fond expression, he gives him the softest peck on the nose before saying 'I love you' in that warbled language of theirs.

And yes, he does love winning.]

[He gives another whine at that, closing his eyes and leaning in to press his forehead against Emet's.]

... Say it again.

[Because Emet was an idiot and tried to shove his head in the sand like an ostrich on their first meeting?]

You'd best. You'll be hard pressed to find a better match.

[He's jesting mostly as he runs a hand up and down his back in a soothing gesture.]

[That's true, Emet is a dumdum.

He laughs, leaning into the petting, but nonetheless nudges Emet in the side gently.]

And what of yourself, hmm? You seem to have found plenty of partners in my absence.

[It's also mostly a joke, but at the same time he can't help still feeling a little jealous, a little insecure. After all, their reunion wasn't so easy, and he's still aware that they have 12 thousand years worth of difference.]

Take it as a reflection of your own work. I certainly didn't learn to be friendly on my lonesome.

[He nips at his nose, biting it lightly.]

Lahabrea and Elidibus do not count. But I suppose that does leave me with two serious and two dalliances.

Do you worry about your place in my heart?

[Hm, wait a moment. He tips his head thoughtfully, counting Emet's relationships.]

The dalliances being?..

Are you to be jealous of those as well?

[HUH.]

... I was not aware of those. But since you ask--yes.

[He looks Emet in the eyes, his tone both joking and serious.]

I think I'll always be jealous of anyone who has even the slightest chance of stealing your attention from me. But isn't that jealousy what you want, too, Hades?

Long ago I would have said yes or at least implied it. Wanting to be fawned over and worried for without a doubt. Not that I do not longer enjoy these affairs, but my priorities have changed.

Rather than jealousy I would simply want those that I love happy with whatever and whomever would bring such joy.

[He watches Emet for a few moments, then sighs softly.]

... I would not interfere in your relationships, of course. And I am happy, truly, that you've found others who put your heart at ease.

But... you'll have to forgive me if I keep worrying over whether they may replace me in your heart.

[He laughs as he takes his hands.]

Impossible. I'd give you a piece of it as proof would I be able.
